(Calexico, CA) – On behalf of the Imperial County Air Pollution Control District and California Air Resources Board (CARB), please join us as we unveil the newly installed temporary monitoring shelter to monitor certain criteria air pollutants along the New River. The New River Monitoring Project will collect data for a 6-month period. Upon completion of the monitoring period, the final report summarizing all statistical analysis, overall data completion, and achievement of data quality objectives will be generated. The final report will be submitted to the ICAPCD for review within forty-five (45) days of the final day of measurement collection. Once the report is approved by the ICAPCD, a summary of the project findings will be presented to the AB 617 Community Steering Committee. This project is part of the AB 617 Community Steering Committee’s Community Air Monitoring Plan (CAMP) to address and improve the air quality in the Calexico-Heber-El Centro community corridor.
